In St. Petersburg, a military parade is held in honor of lifting the blockade of Leningrad

On the Palace Square in St. Petersburg, a military parade is held in honor of the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade.


About 2,5 thousand soldiers will take part in the memorable event. Also on the square will be a column of 80 samples of military equipment, which will be headed by the legendary T-34 tank.

It is noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be present at the parade.

Leningrad was liberated on January 27, 1944.

Over 630 thousand residents of the city died from hunger and disease, hundreds of thousands of soldiers died trying to break through the encirclement.
