Former Counsel Macron Detained

Alexander Benall, a former adviser to the president of France Emmanuel Macron, is detained due to the illegal use of diplomatic passports. Reports about it Le Figaro with reference to prosecutor's office.


It is noted that the ex-adviser of Macron was interrogated by the investigators.

An investigation into Benall’s unlawful use of diplomatic passports and the “abuse of trust” was launched in December.

In July 2018, it became known that Benalle beat a demonstrator during a May Day demonstration in Paris.

In late December, he was charged with “interfering with the work of law enforcement agencies” and “intentional violence as part of a group of individuals”.
